White Tailed Antelope Squirrel

A charming little animal about six inches long, it holds its tail above its back when it runs exposing the white underside. It keeps watch by standing on its hind legs much like a meerkat. This particular one we saw in the Mojave Desert. It was extremely confiding (or very brave!) and allowed us to approach within a few feet.
